IMPORTANT INFORMATION ~ PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

WITHDRAWALS, REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS

Courses less than 5 weeks
An international student may withdraw up until the end of the second day and receive a refund of at least 50% of any amount paid. A domestic student may
receive are fund in accordance with the refund policy of Canterbury College.

Courses of 5 weeks and less than 3 months
An international student may withdraw up until the end of the fifth day and receive a refund of at least 75% of any amount paid. A domestic student may receive
a refund in accordance with the refund policy of Canterbury College.

Courses of 3 months or more
An international student may withdraw up until the end of the tenth working day and receive a refund of 100% of any amount paid LESS a deduction for costs incurred by
Canterbury College up to a maximum of 25% of any amount paid.
A domestic student may withdraw up until the end of the eighth day and receive a refund of 100% of any amount paid LESS a deduction for costs incurred by
Canterbury College up to 10% of any amount paid, or $500, whichever is the lesser.

All applications for refunds made after the end of the applicable day will be in accordance with the refund policy of Canterbury College.

All courses
• Payment of all monies to Canterbury College will be made by the Trustee of the Student Trust Fund Account.
• Students under 18 must obtain written permission from their parents to withdraw from their chosen course.
• No refunds will be made to students who are asked to leave Canterbury College because of misbehaviour, poor attendance or violation of Canterbury College rules.
• Except at the discretion of management, no refunds will be made to students for any other reason. Refund requests involving, for example, the serious illness or death of
the student, parent or grandparent, sibling, spouse or child in the immediate family will always be considered.
• In order to avoid delays in refund payment, students must apply in writing to the Financial Director, stating their reasons for withdrawing from Canterbury College. Any fees refunded will be returned to the student via a student-nominated bank account. Students less than 18 years old must have parental approval in writing for the
nominated bank account.
• Canterbury College must inform Immigration New Zealand that the student is no longer studying with us.
• All refunds are made in NZ dollars. Canterbury College is not responsible for any changes in the value of currencies or for students’ bank fees.
• While in New Zealand, all students must have insurance cover for travel, accident, illness and loss of personal possessions.

Students less than 18 years old are enrolled subject to the following conditions:
1. They must have a guardian, approved by Canterbury College, for the duration of their course.
2. They must have travel, medical and personal insurance cover (see note above).
3. They must live with a New Zealand host family approved by Canterbury College.
4. They must not own or drive a motor vehicle while enrolled at Canterbury College.

Visas: Reasonable assistance will be given to enable you, the student, to obtain a suitable visa before arriving; however, it is your responsibility to comply with the
requirements of the immigration authorities (http://www.immigration.govt.nz)

Accommodation: The school offers a comprehensive homestay service. Other options are available through various accommodation service providers; further information
is available on request.
