All students studying for 4 weeks or more will receive a detailed graduation report like the image above. This report is an evaluation by your teacher of your exact level in all the main areas and how you can continue to improve your English.

General English classes at Canterbury College are:

- Taught by experienced, qualified and active teachers

- Friendly and focus on improving your English quickly

- Taught using a variety of methods depending on your level

- Not too big, average between 8-10 students, often smaller

- Followed by lots of extra afterschool activities, especially the coffee club every Thursday afternoon.

COURSE STRUCTURE

- Students can combine with enrolment in General English in
mornings

Business English in the afternoons which includes:

- Business vocabulary
- Making presentations
- Negotiating
- Participating in meetings
- Telephone communication
- Business writing (reports, formal letters, emails and memos)
- Cross-cultural awareness in business contexts

Entry Criteria

Students will need to meet the following entry requirements:

- Have a background in business or an interest in working in this industry

- A minimum level of intermediate English is required

The course is designed for students to gain introductory knowledge of NZ business practice and confidently undertake employment at a workplace. After completion, students have the opportunity to:

- Work in a business related environment

- Study business at diploma level confidently with knowledge and experience
