This is a class in which teacher and student work together.

WORK
Exam classes need lots of commitment and energy from students. If you are not used to exam classes, you need to say to yourself “I’m going to work really hard to achieve during the course and then I’ll have a break.”

The course requires at least two hours homework a night (stay in the school until 5 or come really early in the morning if this becomes a problem).

See the teacher if the homework is too much of a burden.

Understand that this is a unique course which aims to improve your fluency and knowledge of the English language a lot. You are not expected to remember everything you learn. But work hard to collect as much new language as you can.

To achieve 7 you need to complete at least 7 1001 lessons so keep this up. These lessons are regularly tested, so don’t get behind.

We try to make the best use of time in class. The teacher does not want to watch you read or watch you listen. So for reading especially, prepare exercises well.

ORGANISATION
In addition to writing and reading homework, you should revise. Often the teacher will say revise actively. This means repeating some of the language work in class and may only take 10 minutes.
There will be regular tests for this.

Have a folder for your work. Have an organization for your files. Keep work you want to revise together.

Have a notebook for writing feedback. Revise and check this too after writing.

FOCUS
Students need to be focused. Often the teacher will say “Add this language to your essay tonight” or “For personal accuracy, focus checking this grammar tonight.” The teacher will also often give you personal short tasks from your writing. It is absolutely essential that you read feedback, learn from feedback and act on it.”
